NOTICE OF RACE

June 11 – 12, 2011

You are invited to participate in the 2011 Junior Ski to Sea Regatta hosted by the Bellingham Yacht Club. The Regatta will be governed by the 2009-2012 Racing Rules of Sailing, and the US Sailing Prescriptions, except those altered by the Sailing Instructions or by class rules that do not conflict with the Rules, Prescriptions or Sailing Instructions.

Eligibility This regatta is an event of the 2011 NW Youth Racing Circuit. Competitors shall be no older than eighteen (18) years of age at the time of the regatta. Optimist competitors shall be no older than fifteen (15) years of age during the 2011 calendar year.

Classes Optimist, Optimist Green, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, Laser, V-15 and FJ. For additional fleets there will be a 5-boat minimum for a class. Advanced notice for other fleets would be appreciated.

Format The racing venue is in Bellingham Bay.  The regatta will be based at Zuanich Park and the Bellingham Yacht Club. Up to six races per day are scheduled, but one completed race will constitute a series. Registration will be 0830-1030 hours Saturday morning.  A skipper’s meeting will be held at the BYC at 1030 hours on Saturday June 11, 2011. Warning for the first race on Saturday is scheduled for 1200 hours. The Warning for the first race on Sunday is scheduled for 1000 hours. No races will be started after 1430 hours on Sunday.

Registration Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Please use the registration form below or online at jrskitosea.byc.org, and mail or email it to the address on the form. Registration fee includes breakfast and lunches for the participants on Saturday and Sunday, dinner on Saturday, 2 days of racing, and event t-shirt. On-site registration will be 0830-1030 hours Saturday.

Fees Registration fees are $50 single-handed and $70 double handed. Additional meals are available for family members—$10.00 for the Saturday dinner. Make checks (payable in U.S. funds only) payable to Bellingham Yacht Club.
